Owner & operator of Prairie Collective Bookkeeping & Accounting.

Born and raised on a farm in south central Saskatchewan I have been closely involved with the agricultural community my whole life. I live in Rockglen, SK with my fiancé Jesse and our two young sons - Remi & Mance. We juggle shift work, family life, and also operate a family grain farm.

Being a business owner myself, I am familiar with the many hats that entrepreneurs wear in an ever changing world. I understand the unique lifestyle, planning, stresses and concerns that go into businesses - especially in the agricultural sector.

Little facts about me: I have a fond love for the mountains and enjoy heading out west when I can. Hobbies include snowboarding, golfing, staying active, reading the odd book and soaking in the prairie skyline. Lucky for me we live in the ‘rolling hills’ of southern Saskatchewan and the sights are anything but boring. I’ll take a small rural town over the city any day and I also enjoy a good cup of coffee.

Why I started Prairie Collective.

After working in the accounting industry for several years and having kids I wanted to leave the 9-5 and daily commute behind and have more control over where I was investing my time.

The gaps and inconsistencies happening in accounting offices were becoming more apparent and I felt like I could provide an elevated, more comprehensive client experience. I also wanted to invest more into my knowledge and skills, and realized that in order to do that I needed to move on from where I was at.

After a brief retirement and stint with stay-at-home mom life, I started digging into how I could harness my skills and what that may look like. I decided to pull the trigger on opening my own bookkeeping business, found a mentorship program and a bookkeeping community with plenty of support options online and here we are.

I wanted to pay homage to my prairie roots and agricultural ties and voila - Prairie Collective Bookkeeping & Accounting was born.

What it looks like to work together.

We use cloud based accounting software - meaning everything can be done remotely online.

We use Quickbooks as our main accounting software and then we use apps, such as Dext, where you scan and upload your receipts virtually. You keep your physical receipts and we have access to digital copies. We then take your information and ensure that income and expenses are recorded correctly and reconcile accounts to make sure that nothing is missed or doubled up!

While we recognize the benefits of meeting in person, a virtual office allows us to streamline our services - ensuring efficiency and quality.

We use zoom meetings to meet with our clients, but if video chatting isn’t your thing we can talk the old fashion way - on the phone! :)
